Go from 0 to 60 in San Diego

Today is the day you can choose to “accelerate” your pharmacy’s success into overdrive. That’s because in just 60 days, the premier event in community pharmacy, the 114th NCPA Annual Convention and Trade Exposition will begin in beautiful San Diego. From October 13-17, hundreds of pharmacy owners, staff pharmacists, students, industry suppliers, vendors, and more will convene at the San Diego Convention Center to highlight the best and brightest in community pharmacy.

This convention is all about you and your pharmacy. We’re planning over 20 hours of useful and thought-provoking programming, delivered by subject matter experts and industry authorities. The wide variety of offerings will give you the tools you need to sharpen your patient care skills and improve your pharmacy’s performance.

There will be CE programs on marketing (traditional, social media, and mobile), OTC inventory, practice pearls, and compounding niches to build your business. New this year will be daily non-CE business basics with NCPA Senior Director of Sales and Marketing Gabe Trahan (of Front End Overhaul fame), who will lead business breakfast discussions, identify the top five products of the day on the tradeshow floor, and help you learn how to merchandise them back home in your pharmacies.

For those of you with an interest in long-term care, there will be a new special Long-Term Care Business Summit along with LTC-focused sessions on short-cycle dispensing, marketing, and technology. With our first-ever LTC vendor aisle in the Exhibit Hall and an LTC Division networking reception, there will be many opportunities to meet and share ideas with experts in the field.

On Saturday, you could attend the always popular Technology Seminar to learn the latest technologies of adherence, 340B, and specialty pharmacy with hands-on application from tech savvy peers. Or you could attend the new half-day Adherence Institute to help you rethink how and why you are providing adherence services. Learn from others on how they are leveraging adherence services to form relationships with local providers and using adherence as a springboard for new revenue opportunities.

If you want to get even more of a head-start, you can register to attend your choice of pre-convention programming beginning on Friday on topics including 340B, front end marketing, diabetes educator training, and immunization delivery.

With the government as our largest business partner, you’ll want to hear the thoughts of our Opening General Session speaker, former Congressman Joe Scarborough (R-Fla.), now host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, a show Time magazine calls “revolutionary” and the New York Times ranked as the top news show of 2008. Our government affairs forum will feature two health care policy heavyweights—Chris Jennings, former assistant to the president for health care under President Bill Clinton, and Thomas Barker, JD, former acting general counsel at the Department of Health and Human Services under President George W. Bush—to discuss what changes to the health care market are likely after the election, particularly to Medicaid and Medicare.

Your business will also benefit from the NCPA Trade Exposition, the most powerful and productive trade show in the independent pharmacy industry. From Sunday through Tuesday, you will have access to hundreds of companies offering the best opportunity to secure the latest in products and services from vendors not available at other industry shows.

With all of this and more, the NCPA Annual Convention and Trade Exposition will help you drive your business wherever you want to go. Register now to begin your journey.
